Casa Ali ~ is a supper club inspired by all those with whom I have broken bread and shared food as a host or as a guest.
Located, south of the river in London, Casa Ali is just 11 minutes by train from London Bridge + a ten minute walk from Norwood Junction. The exact location is a secret (will be given out via e-mail a week in advance of the meal), it adds a little mystery!
Casa Ali (ali’s home) ~ Love and more love, the idea is not to reproduce a restaurant experience! You can expect food cooked with love, soaked in warm hearty conversations and served in my open plan kitchen / dining room without pretension. You can watch the food being prepared if you so wish. The table cosily sits 8. Costs on average around £35 for a 4 to 5 course meal.
Depending on the season, the menu will be finalised couple weeks in advance. I try to source locally and support small grocers, butchers and fish mongers. In summer, there is more possibility to forage herbs and berries or use organic vegetables from my allotment. Its fun!
Alcohol will not be provided, though on occasion there will be welcome drinks ‘on-the-house’ and filtered water. You can bring your own drinks to enjoy before, during an after your meal. The fridge will be full of food, but we will try our best to keep your drinks chilled.
The cooking comes from my heart as I take inspiration from many cuisines and cultures. My dishes do not have names, they are presented factually with the ingredients. If you wish to give them a name, eventually I would call them so!
To get an idea of the food you may get, browse through the gallery of some veg and non-veg dishes that I have prepared in the past.
Love and more love!
Hey Ali, I wish you all the best with this.
For everyone in and around London I strongly recommend going to meet Ali. Not only is he an amazing chef, he also is a really nice person.
I met Ali through Couchsurfing and stayed at his place for a little more than a week. During that time I had some of the best dinners in my life. Alis cooking is really inspiring and different from what I tasted before. You can’t put a tag on his food, its not Indian or Chinese or anything, just really good food!
Many thanks Kai… you know you are always welcome if you are in London. If the couch is available, it is yours! You are right my cooking is not one or the other. World inspires me and I borrow and make it my own! Wish you were here for the first two!
Looks amazing! Thanks to Fatima for recommending.

I met Ali through adoring photos of his food on Instagram and attended a meal – some of the most delicious food I have ever tasted, and I’m a vegetarian foodie. The Supper Club was a great chance to meet with new people and enjoy Ali’s amazing cooking and company! Highly recommended!
