Casa Ali dinners and lunches in april turned out amazing. Dinners were totally booked out and sunday lunches saw rather intimate gatherings which resulted in cooking sessions with guests and on an other occasion, planning the performative culinary collaboration with Gabriela Parra.
As promised, a Romainian treat graced one of the dinners made by my flatmate and his girl-friend visiting from Milan. Reconnected with some old friends after many years and via Casa Ali I was introduced to some new faces. Luiz Hara and I, started following each others instagrams for some time now and finally we met in person. Luiz in collaboration with Eventbrite invited supperclub hosts for dinner at his delightful home, created an opportunity to wow us with his food magic as well as provide an evening of networking and learning from each others varying experiences. Fantastic evening!! Very pleased about the different perspectives offered by the people passionate about their enterprise. All were food artists and entrepreneurs. Nearly twenty people around two tables, with taste buds and imaginations ignited, it was a challenge to engage with them all. Even though I did suggest musical chairs, only two of us were game to it as people’s neighbourly love for the other was too strong. It made me value the intimacy I offer. Maximum of eight people around the table will continue to be so at Casa Ali. Perhaps, if the cloning pill arrives at the counters sometime soon, I may increase the number of guests so that my double would still be able to have conversations with each guest around the table 🙂
