On the invitation to create an interactive art installation through residency/workshop with Officine Sintetiche Lab (OS Lab) in Turin, my starting point was, surprise surprise, food! Conceptually I wanted to use everyday food ingredients as a prism. I called it NOMADI. A portrait of coffee, rice and wheat, Nomadi, is an homage to migration and culture. … July and what a packed month it has been. Four Casa Ali gatherings, created and handed over content for food4thought, some of my harvest has begun, couch surfer guests from Turkey and Australia and a new kid added to the line of royals in a summer which has been the hottest in many years (wonder how it would impact on the future of united kingdom). Casa Ali dinners and lunches in april turned out amazing. Dinners were totally booked out and sunday lunches saw rather intimate gatherings which resulted in cooking sessions with guests and on an other occasion, planning the performative culinary collaboration with Gabriela Parra.

Celebrate Nowruz and Spring Equinox in the Casa Ali style!
The ancient Persian spring festival of Nowruz, Persian for “new day,” is considered the beginning of the New Year not only in Iran, but throughout Central Asia. The holiday falls on the first day of spring, usually March 21st, and celebrations continue for 13 days.Wear something green. Please observe the timing.
