Ann my neighbour gifted me a potted bulb of Amaryllis belladonna. It was a farewell 2015 intimate food based Casa Ali gathering in my front room. Ann, Vojko my ex-flatmate, Franz my couch surfing guest et moi. Amidst hugs and laughter and anecdotes and reminisces, Ann brought out this decorative pot boxed with no nonsense instructions. Frozen tracks in eternity
A crisp februrary morning walk after a sub zero night was refreshing to say the least. It awakened the senses from a rested state. As the fruit smoothie fuelled my body, I wanted to go for a brisk walk at my local country park. It was a beautiful meditation observing frozen puddles of water, the shapes and forms and textures, rich light and unleashed wonderment.
We are all but tracks in time… the shoes and paws and tyres, a palimpsest of imprints and moments captured and marked in the eternity of time. And gone in a wink! Diane has an air of serenity about her that is contagious… when I first met her twenty six years ago and through all this while that I have known her, her core essence exudes a flawless sense of calm.
